Tyler Starcher turned what could have been a bridesmaid finish into a victory at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Friday night, guiding the #12 machine to the top spot in Round 2 of the AAES O'Reilly's Series. Starcher, who started from the second position, led 70 of 150 laps in a race that saw 12 lead changes among a 15-car field before crossing the stripe ahead of polesitter Danna Rhyne. Seven cautions bunched the field on 22 occasions throughout the night, keeping the race from settling into any comfortable rhythm and ensuring that consistent execution under pressure was the defining factor.

Rhyne, aboard the #27, had set the tone early by claiming the pole and leading 27 laps, but her evening ended one position short of where it began. Despite the runner-up result, Rhyne retains the series points lead with 79 points, holding a five-point advantage over Starcher heading into the next round. Ted Gambill in the #22 completed the podium without a single incident on his record — the lone clean driver among the 15 starters — leading 18 laps himself and sitting just seven points off the top with 72 points. With Starcher, Rhyne, and Gambill separated by only seven points through two rounds, the title fight is as tight as it gets.

The performance that drew the loudest attention behind the top three belonged to Dean Barron in the #84. Starting from 14th on the grid, Barron carved through traffic to finish sixth, a gain of eight positions that earned him hard charger honors on the night. His run stands in sharp contrast to the struggles of #3 John Cherry, who surrendered seven spots from his sixth-place starting position to finish 13th while accumulating 24 incidents — the most of any driver in the field. Christopher Childers in the #4 also battled contact issues with 12 incidents while holding his fourth-place starting spot to finish fourth.

Further back, Jack Kelly in the #38 quietly moved three spots forward from 15th to 12th, and with 61 points sits fourth in the standings — just one point ahead of Mark Brister's #21, who gained a position on the night to finish tenth. With five drivers separated by 19 points at the top of the standings after just two rounds, every position and every incident will carry weight going forward in the O'Reilly's Series.
