The opening round of the American Appalachian E-Sports IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship at Daytona International Speedway delivered an immediate statement from the #87 entry, as Joseph Blommel converted a third-place starting position into a race victory after leading 42 of 59 laps. With four lead changes recorded across the race distance, the front of the field was far from settled early, but Blommel's machine ultimately proved to be the class of the field on the day. Two caution periods for a combined five laps briefly interrupted the rhythm of proceedings, though neither slowed Blommel's charge toward the checkered flag.

Pole sitter Logan Gensel in the #25 car led 11 laps from the front row but ultimately fell to third at the finish, a result made more frustrating by an 11-incident tally that suggested a difficult afternoon managing the car. Between Blommel and Gensel on the podium sat #06 Justin Landry, who led six laps from his second-place starting spot and held on for a clean runner-up finish with just two incidents to his name. Fourth went to Maxwell Waite in the #54, who gained one position from his P5 start, while Christopher Peters in the #43 rounded out the top five after advancing one spot from sixth on the grid.

The hard charger award belonged to #469 Brian Bell, who climbed five positions from his 23rd-place starting spot to cross the line 18th. Starting from the very back of the 23-car field, Bell navigated a race that saw several frontrunners struggle — most notably #36 Ryder Poe, who fell 18 positions from fourth on the grid to finish 22nd. The two drivers credited with zero incidents on the day were #123 Steve Pierson, who finished ninth after starting 12th, and #90 Zack Yordy, who came home 13th after starting 17th — two of the cleaner runs in an otherwise incident-filled afternoon.

With the points standings locked in after Round 1, the title fight is already congested. Blommel leads the standings on 200 points, but he shares that position with Waite and Medrano — Carlos Medrano in the #5 gaining four spots to finish seventh and collecting the maximum 200 points in his class. Landry sits fourth on 175 points alongside Peters at 175, meaning just 25 points separate the top five entering the next round. The series has announced itself immediately as one without a clear favorite, and the battles at the front are only going to sharpen as the season progresses.
