Anthony Dobbins turned in the most remarkable drive of the young AAES O'Reilly's Series season at Darlington Raceway on Friday night, charging from 12th on the grid to victory lane in Round 3. The #60 machine was relentless through the Lady in Black's treacherous asphalt, leading 87 of 150 laps and navigating all three cautions without incident — making Dobbins the only driver in the 13-car field to finish the night with a clean sheet. It was a first win of the season and the first of his career in this series, a result that came despite starting from deep in the field while front-row starters were still sorting out their strategies.

Pole sitter John Cherry in the #3 looked well-positioned early, leading 13 laps from the front row before a nightmare unraveled across 150 circuits. Cherry crossed the stripe in 10th, dropping nine positions from where he started and piling up 32 incident points in the process — the heaviest damage total of the night. Up front, Ted Gambill in the #22 led 19 laps and Tyler Starcher in the #12 paced the field for 27, but neither could sustain their challenges as Dobbins accumulated the bulk of the race leadership.

Danna Rhyne in the #27 salvaged a second-place finish after leading 4 laps, though her night wasn't without drama — she carried 8 incident points across the 150-lap distance. Tyler Alexander brought the #72 home third, also having advanced four positions from his P7 starting spot, to complete a podium that saw all three finishers improve on their starting positions. Mark Brister in the #021 deserves recognition as well, climbing six spots from 13th on the grid to 7th at the flag, while the back of the field told a rougher story — #38 Jack Kelly and #28 Brandon Gordon combined for 46 incident points between them.

The standings after Darlington paint a fascinating picture for the title fight going forward. Rhyne's runner-up effort keeps her at the top of the table with 115 points, but Tyler Starcher's 5th-place run left him at 106 and Ted Gambill's 4th-place result puts him at 105 — just nine points separating second and third with what amounts to a three-driver battle tightening race by race. Anthony Dobbins, despite his commanding performance, isn't yet listed among the top five in points, which only underscores how much ground there is still to be claimed as the series heads away from Darlington.
