Sebring International Raceway

Justin Landry brought the #06 machine to victory lane at Sebring International Raceway on Sunday, taking the checkered flag in Round 2 of the AAES Weathertech Sportscar Championship. Starting from pole, Landry led 21 of the race's 31 laps, though the win was not without a fight — Logan Gensel in the #25 held the lead for 10 laps at some stage, representing the race's one lead change across what was otherwise a controlled afternoon at the top. With one caution bunching the field for two laps, Landry managed a five-incident card on his way to the 200-point haul, the first victory of his career in this series.

Logan Gensel brought the #25 home in second, his 10 laps led a testament to a genuine challenge that ultimately came up short. Completing the podium was #54 Maxwell Waite in third — one of only three drivers to finish the 31-lap race without a single incident — collecting 200 points in a clean and composed run through the Sebring heat. Carlos Medrano in the #5 rounded out the top five from his starting spot of fifth, while Steve Pierson in the #123 gained a position from seventh on the grid to take sixth.

The hard charger award belonged emphatically to Christopher Peters in the #43, who launched from 14th on the grid and carved his way to a fourth-place finish, a gain of ten positions across 31 laps. Peters' 175-point reward for that drive proves significant in the standings context, and his 4 incident points suggest the charge was made with enough control to matter. At the other end of the ledger, #9 Jeff Behson and #066 Aldo Seclen suffered the heaviest falls from grace — Behson dropping eleven positions from fourth to fifteenth, and Seclen sliding ten spots from sixth to last, the pair accumulating zero and eight incidents respectively as their afternoons unraveled.

With two rounds in the books, Maxwell Waite and Carlos Medrano are locked together at the top of the standings on 400 points apiece, making for a razor-thin battle at the summit heading into the races ahead. Race winner Justin Landry sits third on 375 points, just 25 back from the co-leaders, while Christopher Peters and Steve Pierson share fourth and fifth on 350 points each. Five drivers separated by only 50 points means the AAES Weathertech Sportscar Championship is wide open, and Sebring has done nothing to simplify what looks set to be a compelling season-long fight.
