Round 4 of the IMSA AAES Weathertech Sportscar Championship delivered 14 chaotic laps around the Nürburgring Combined circuit on Sunday, with #25 Logan Gensel taking the victory from second on the grid. Gensel, who held the lead for 3 of the race's 14 laps, crossed the line ahead of #54 Maxwell Waite and #46 Graham Van Ewyk in a race that featured four lead changes and not a single driver completing the afternoon without incident. Pole-sitter #66 Joshua Rivera led the opening stretch with 10 laps at the front but faded to fifth by the checkered flag, a painful swing of four positions for a driver who controlled much of the race's tempo.

Gensel's victory — his first in league racing in this series, both on the season and all-time — came against a backdrop of raw, contact-laden racing. The 19-incident tally against his name tells the story of a hard-fought afternoon on one of motorsport's most demanding layouts. Waite matched the 200-point haul in second, while Waite and Gensel were separated by time rather than fortune. Behind them, #64 Dan Kopinski continued a strong recovery drive from 12th on the grid to sixth, matching the six-position gain posted by both #084 Dean Barron and #469 Brian Bell further down the order.

The performance of the afternoon belonged to #46 Graham Van Ewyk, who charged from tenth on the grid all the way to third — a gain of seven positions through 14 laps of the Nürburgring to claim the Hard Charger award and the round's third step on the podium. Van Ewyk's trip to P3 also delivered 175 championship points, a significant return for a driver who earned his second finish inside the top three in this series. At the other end of the grid story, #36 Ryder Poe was the biggest mover in the wrong direction, tumbling 13 positions from fifth on the grid to 18th at the flag, while #87 Joseph Blommel dropped eight spots from ninth to 17th.

In the standings, Maxwell Waite holds a 120-point advantage over Gensel — 750 to 630 — after Gensel's Sunday win dramatically tightened what had been a wider gap. Justin Landry sits third at 600 points following his eighth-place recovery from 13th on the grid, keeping himself very much in the title conversation. Dan Kopinski's sixth-place points haul elevated him to fifth on 525 points, just five behind Steve Pierson's 530, as the pack in the middle of the standings continues to compress. With Waite and Gensel now clearly the two drivers to watch, the pressure heading into Round 5 falls squarely on the series leader to hold his margin.
