Round 12 of the American Appalachian E-Sports ARCA Rookie Series produced one of the most chaotic afternoons Las Vegas Motor Speedway has seen in league competition, with 13 cautions bunching the 27-car field across 48 caution laps and producing 18 lead changes before it was all sorted out. When the dust settled, it was #3 John Cherry standing in victory lane, earning his second win of the season after starting on the front row in second. Cherry led 15 of the 104 laps but timed his runs at the front to matter most when it counted, holding off a hard-charging field through a relentless string of restarts.
Polesitter #46 Graham Van Ewyk was the dominant car on the day, leading 30 laps — more than any other driver in the field — but his two prior wins this season could not add a third as Cherry edged him at the line. Van Ewyk settled for second, a result that stings given the raw pace he showed. The story of the podium, however, belongs to #10 Seth Jackson, who drove from 13th on the grid all the way forward to claim third place. For Jackson, it was a series-first podium finish, and the result came with the kind of contact-laced racing that defined the afternoon — Jackson absorbed 9 incidents along the way.
The hard charger award went emphatically to #097 Anthony Raso, who launched from 23rd on the grid and carved through a disaster-riddled field to finish 10th, a gain of 13 positions on the day. With 15 incidents of his own logged and 15 others happening around him, Raso's advance required threading through the constant carnage that defined this race. #5 Andrew Childers had a race to forget by comparison, dropping five spots from his third-place starting position to finish eighth, while #86 Rick Dewees and #76 Kevin Herring — both of whom led laps and started inside the top ten — fell back to 14th and 12th respectively.
In the standings, points leader #27 Danna Rhyne remains firmly in command with 698 points, but her margin over second-place #28 Brandon Gordon stands at 181 points with four races remaining. Cherry's win moves him to third at 509 points, just 8 behind Gordon, meaning the fight for the runner-up spot in the standings is intensifying race by race. #1 Steve Casel, who charged from 17th to ninth on the day, sits fourth at 486 points, and fifth-place Dean Barron trails by just 5 more. With the field this tightly packed from second through fifth and four rounds left on the schedule, every restart at every remaining venue carries real consequences for the title picture behind Rhyne.
