Mark Brister picked up his first win of the season — and in this series entirely — at EchoPark Speedway on Wednesday night, taking the checkered flag in the 100-lap affair at Atlanta to vault to the top of the playoff standings. Starting from P2, Brister's #21 machine led 17 of the race's 100 laps across a chaotic evening that saw 15 lead changes and six caution periods erase 19 laps of green-flag running. With the win, Brister now sits atop the playoff table at 85 points, an 11-point advantage over #28 Brandon Gordon heading into the final three rounds of the American Appalachian E-Sports ARCA Rookie Series schedule.

The race was anything but straightforward up front. Pole-sitter #46 Graham Van Ewyk led the most laps of anyone — 22 — but ultimately faded to a third-place finish, his #46 coming home two spots behind where he started despite carrying zero incidents on his card all night. Van Ewyk's clean run wasn't enough to hold off Brister or the hard-charging #26 of Raymond Bell, who led 18 laps of his own and crossed the line in second. With two prior series wins to his credit, Van Ewyk still walks away from Atlanta with a solid points haul, though the standings remain tight with three races left.

Bell's effort Thursday deserves recognition on its own terms. The #26 started 10th and worked his way through the field to finish second — a net gain of eight positions that earned him the hard charger honors for the race. Bell led 18 laps despite his deep starting spot, a figure that topped every other driver in the field including the race winner. At 65 points in the playoff standings, Bell now sits fourth, just one point behind Steve Casel's 64 and nine off the all-important top-two picture. Bell has prior wins in the series, so he knows what a victory lane visit looks like — but the clock is ticking with only three rounds remaining.

The drama extended well beyond the top three. #28 Brandon Gordon, starting 11th, climbed five spots to sixth and led 19 laps along the way, keeping his 74-point total firmly in the hunt at second in the standings. Meanwhile, #27 Danna Rhyne had the roughest night of any playoff contender — the driver who started fifth racked up 25 incidents and tumbled to 13th at the finish, though 73 points still keeps Rhyne third in the standings, just one point behind Gordon. With #084 Dean Barron running a steady fourth and only three clean drivers across the 13-car field on the night, the final stretch of this rookie series season shapes up as one of the most wide-open battles on the league calendar.
