Round 5 of the Old Guy Racing League's ARCA season at Charlotte Motor Speedway produced one of the most chaotic afternoons of the young season, with seven cautions bunching the 23-car field repeatedly across 73 laps and setting the stage for a dramatic late shuffle at the front. When the checkered flag fell, it was the #85 Chevrolet of Brandon Cowell crossing the line first, earning his second win of the season after starting seventh and leading 18 of the 73 laps. The victory was hard-fought — seven lead changes across the afternoon meant no one held control of the race for long, and Cowell had to navigate 20 caution laps worth of restarts to secure the result.

The most compelling subplot at the front was the battle involving #23 Wyatt Collins, who actually led a race-high 20 laps after climbing nine positions from his 11th-place starting spot. Collins pushed Cowell hard throughout the final stretch but had to settle for second at the flag. Bryce Grissom in the #225, who also climbed six spots from P9, rounded out the podium for what the prior-wins data confirms is his first series podium. Pole-sitter #93 Brent Just led 13 laps from the front row but faded to fourth by race's end, while #71 Richard Modrich — who had led 15 laps at various points — tumbled all the way to 19th, a 15-position drop that will loom large in the standings conversation.

The hard charger award belonged to #20 Levi Wolfe, who delivered the most dramatic charge of the afternoon by driving from 19th on the grid all the way to fifth at the checkers — a gain of 14 positions. Wolfe accumulated seven incidents along the way, evidence that his push through the field came with some physicality, but the #20 team will leave Charlotte with a result that far exceeded where they started. Fellow deep-field charger #46 David Overstreet mirrored the theme, gaining 13 spots from P20 to finish seventh, while #007 Trent Richard climbed four spots from the rear of the 23-car field to bring home an 18th-place result.

With five rounds now complete, the ARCA title fight has tightened into a knife-edge contest at the top of the standings. Cowell's win vaults him to first with 79 points, just one ahead of #16 Mitchell Williams on 78 — a driver who started third on Sunday but struggled to an eighth-place finish with 18 incidents logged against his name. Richard Modrich sits third at 75 points, despite his difficult afternoon at Charlotte. Kyre Mullaney and Javier Zapata round out the top five at 70 and 69 points respectively, meaning just ten points cover the top five in the standings as the series heads into the remainder of the season.
