Round 6 of the Old Guy Racing League's NASCAR Trucks season at Talladega Superspeedway delivered one of the most dramatic results of the year, as #04 Rick Siebrands charged from 20th on the grid to take the victory — earning him the race win and the hard charger honor simultaneously. Siebrands, who had never won in this series before Thursday night, threaded his way through a 24-truck field marked by 10 lead changes and two cautions across 60 laps, ultimately leading 9 of those laps before securing the top spot when it counted most. Pole sitter #00 Derek Rice had the worst night of anyone, falling from first to last — a 22-position collapse that stood as the starkest swing on the results sheet.
The real narrative battle at the front involved #5 Rick Sanchez, who led a race-high 28 laps but faded badly in the closing stages, eventually crossing the line in 16th after starting second. That collapse opened the door for #16 Mitchell Williams, who had led 16 laps of his own and pressed Siebrands hard in the late running, to claim second place. Williams brought home 36 points on the night, while #71 Richard Modrich — picking up his second career win in this series at some point this season, though Thursday produced a podium rather than a victory — came home third after starting fifth, taking 34 points despite collecting 4 incidents along the way.
Beyond the top three, #52 Randy Coryer moved up 7 spots from 11th to finish fourth, and #97 William Bowman was the second-biggest position gainer among the frontrunners, climbing 9 spots from 14th to fifth. #225 Bryce Grissom also deserves recognition for gaining 10 positions from 18th to eighth, while #24 Javier Zapata quietly advanced 11 spots from 21st to tenth — one of the cleanest runs of the evening with zero incidents recorded. Eight drivers in total finished with a perfect incident-free sheet in a race that saw plenty of chaos elsewhere.
In the standings, Brandon Cowell holds the points lead with 163 points through six rounds, a 15-point margin over Mitchell Williams at 148. Williams' runner-up result keeps him firmly in the picture, but his gap to Cowell — who does not appear in this race's finishing order — means Cowell effectively extended his advantage on a night Williams needed to close ground. Richard Modrich sits third at 139 points, with William Bowman at 127 and Charlie Stutzman rounding out the top five at 121. With the gap between second and fifth only 27 points, Thursday's result at Talladega reshuffled the order without settling anything, setting up what promises to be a tightly contested run through the remainder of the season.
