What an incredible weekend.
We rolled into the 24 Hours of Spa with our Ford Mustang GT3 and came away with a Top 10 finish, bringing the car home in one piece. Honestly, I couldn't be more proud of this team. Endurance racing isn't just about outright speed; it's about trust, consistency, teamwork, and keeping your head when things get tough.
And we definitely had our share of challenges.
At one point, we found ourselves all the way back in 28th place. It would've been easy to hang our heads, but this team never quit. Through smart strategy, clean racing, consistent pace, and a determination to keep fighting every lap, we clawed our way back through the field to finish 10th Overall. That's the kind of resilience that defines a great endurance team.
The Driver Lineup
Every single driver played a part in making that happen:
- Jordyn Propst – Our absolute speed machine all weekend long. Not only did you put together an incredible qualifying run to place us P4 on the grid, but your race pace was phenomenal every time you climbed into the car. Just as importantly, you played a huge role behind the scenes, making smart strategy calls that kept us in the fight throughout the race. Whether it was fuel strategy, pit timing, or adapting to changing conditions, your decisions consistently put us in the best possible position. You were a massive reason we were able to recover from 28th and fight our way back into the Top 10. Outstanding speed, outstanding leadership, and an incredible performance.
- Cameron Iverson – Absolute speed when we needed it most. Every stint was strong, consistent, and you clawed back valuable positions throughout the race. Every time we needed someone to go hunting, you answered the call.
- Bryson Richardson – Our rock. The guy everyone could lean on. Consistently quick, incredibly safe, and always bringing the car back exactly how you'd hope. Those clean, reliable stints were a huge part of our comeback.
- Thomas Spencer – The hero of the graveyard shift. While the rest of us were trying to steal a few hours of sleep, you kept the Mustang alive through the dark Belgian night without missing a beat. Night stints are never easy, and you made them look routine, even with a limp wrist...
- Kester "Metal" Grant – Your very first endurance race, after only a few weeks of preparation, and you absolutely delivered. Calm, clean, composed, and you handed me a car that was ready to keep fighting. That's all anyone can ask for in a debut—fantastic job.
- Fred Truax – My second endurance race. Still learning, still very much a rookie. I may have tried to introduce HHR to the scenery... (kidding... mostly 😜). Overall, it was a steady stint—no big gains, no major losses, and I brought back a mostly clean-ish race car.
- Dave McCollough – Despite the last-minute work scare AND surviving what can only be described as an extreme Brown Flag situation, you kept the car clean, stayed composed, and somehow resisted the urge to start swinging the big hammer at everyone around you.
Clawing Back to the Top 10
After 24 hours, 600 laps, changing conditions, traffic, strategy calls, and enough caffeine to keep a small country awake, we crossed the finish line 10th Overall with the car still intact.
A comeback from 28th to 10th isn't something one driver accomplishes—it's the result of seven teammates trusting one another, executing the plan, minimizing mistakes, and refusing to give up when things weren't going our way.
To every member of Summit Motorsports: thank you for your preparation, your commitment, and your belief in one another. As Team Principal, I couldn't be prouder of what we accomplished together.
Now... let's get some sleep... because something tells me this won't be our last adventure.
