Daytona International Speedway

Round 8 of the Summit Racing Series at Daytona International Speedway delivered a commanding performance from #212 James Pearce, who converted his pole position into a race victory on Monday evening. Pearce led 33 of the 34 laps around the 2.5-mile superspeedway, with a lead change briefly shuffling the order before he reasserted himself at the front of the 24-car field. It was his third win of the season in the Summit Racing Series, adding 350 points to his evening's total. Despite accumulating 7 incidents across the race distance, Pearce's pace was simply too strong for the rest of the field to answer.

Behind Pearce, #337 Lucas Wall brought his machine home in second after starting third, gaining one position on the night and banking 320 points — his second career series podium of the season. Third place went to #4 Lewis Hunter, who charged from sixth on the grid to the final step of the podium, collecting 300 points in what stands as his strongest result this year. Fourth went to #333 David Mccollough, who slipped two positions from his second-place starting spot despite running near the front all afternoon. #6 Bryson Richardson rounded out the top five, holding his fifth-place starting position through the entirety of the 34-lap race.

The hard charger award belonged to #02 Nolan Gross, who gained 13 positions from 23rd on the grid to finish 10th despite racking up 8 incidents along the way. Gross's run through the field was the most dramatic single-car story of the evening, and his 210-point haul keeps him in the mix as the series heads deeper into the season. Also notable was #43 Harvey Horspool, who gained 9 spots from 20th to 11th, while #91 Cameron Iverson had the opposite experience — falling 20 positions from fourth on the grid to last, accumulating 23 incidents in the process.

In the standings, Lewis Hunter now leads the Summit Racing Series with 1,501 points following his third-place finish, holding a 101-point advantage over Lucas Wall in second. Dylan Harris and Harvey Horspool are locked together at 1,360 points apiece in third and fourth, making the fight for position behind the top two extremely tight with several rounds remaining. Kyle Gabbard sits fifth at 1,263 points, and with the gap between second and fifth standing at 137 points, the title fight remains wide open heading into Round 9.
