iRacing Dirt Track Series League Rules
1. League Purpose
The goal of this league is to provide clean, competitive, and respectful dirt track racing. Winning is important, but racing with integrity is expected from every driver.
2. Driver Conduct
Respect
- Treat all competitors, officials, and admins with respect.
- Harassment, personal attacks, racism, sexism, or abusive language will not be tolerated.
- Arguments should remain private through league officials, not public chat.
Voice Chat
- Keep voice chat clear during qualifying and races.
- Spotters only during green flag racing unless reporting an emergency.
- No yelling, profanity directed at other drivers, or distracting conversations.
3. Sportsmanship
Drivers are expected to:
- Race competitors as they wish to be raced.
- Admit mistakes when appropriate.
- Give positions back after avoidable contact when possible.
- Accept responsibility for their actions.
Poor sportsmanship may result in penalties even if no incident points are issued.
4. Car Eligibility
- Drivers must use the week's designated car.
- Any setup allowed unless the event is marked as Fixed Setup.
- No exploits, cheats, or unauthorized software.
Example:
- Practice: 30 Minutes
- Drivers Meeting: 5 Minutes
- Qualifying: 2 Laps
- Heat Races (if applicable)
- Feature Event
Admins reserve the right to adjust formats as needed.
6. Starts & Restarts
Initial Start
- Leader controls the pace.
- No jumping the start.
- Green means go.
Restarts
- Leader controls the restart.
- No passing before the start/finish line unless iRacing rules permit.
- Deliberate brake checking will result in penalties.
7. Racing Rules
Clean Racing
- No intentional wrecking.
- No retaliation.
- No blocking by making multiple moves.
- Hold a predictable line.
- Dive bombs that rely on contact are prohibited.
Slower Cars
- Maintain your racing line.
- Leaders are responsible for completing passes safely.
- Lapped traffic should not intentionally interfere with lead lap battles.
8. Dirt Racing Etiquette
Because dirt racing often involves slide jobs:
Legal:
- Clean slide jobs with sufficient room.
- Cross-over attempts.
- Racing door-to-door.
Illegal:
- Using another car to complete a pass.
- Slide jobs with unavoidable contact.
- Purposely driving through another competitor.
Contact that is typical of dirt racing may be considered a racing incident.
9. Cautions
If cautions are enabled:
- Slow immediately.
- No passing unless instructed by iRacing.
- Catch the pace vehicle safely.
If cautions are disabled:
- Continue racing unless damaged.
- Rejoin safely after incidents.
10. Incident Responsibility
Drivers rejoining the track must:
- Yield to racing traffic.
- Rejoin only when safe.
- Avoid driving across the racing surface.
Unsafe rejoins may receive severe penalties.
11. Protests
Drivers may protest:
- Intentional wrecking
- Dangerous driving
- Retaliation
- Abusive behavior
- Rule violations
Protest Procedure

- Drivers are responsible for maintaining a stable internet connection.
- Disconnects are considered part of online racing and will not normally result in restarts.
16. League Administration
League administrators have final authority regarding:
- Rule interpretations
- Incident reviews
- Penalties
- Schedule adjustments
- Special event procedures
Officials will make decisions in the best interest of fair competition.
