Jonathan Burt delivered a commanding performance in the opening round of the RFRL Godsby Big 4 Series at Iowa Speedway, capturing the victory after starting third in the 12-car field. Burt led 82 of the 190 laps around the seven-eighths mile oval, navigating through 10 lead changes and two caution periods that consumed eight laps of green flag racing. The #11 car's victory came despite picking up one incident during the race, as Burt managed the longest stint at the front among the five drivers who shared time in the lead position.

The story of the race belonged to Andrew Morse, who mounted a spectacular charge from 11th on the grid to claim second place in his #84 machine. Morse's nine-position improvement earned him hard charger honors in dramatic fashion, overcoming three incidents during his march through the field. Despite leading only two laps himself, Morse's recovery drive positioned him just six points behind Burt in the championship standings after the season opener.

Brian Sousa completed the podium in third place, advancing two spots from his fifth-place starting position in the #60 car. Sousa led five laps during the contest but accumulated four incidents in his pursuit of the leaders. Chase Rockford also made a strong statement with a five-position gain to fourth place, leading 20 laps from his ninth-place starting spot in the #34 entry.

The race proved costly for several front-runners, most notably pole-sitter Tiyler Walts, who tumbled from first to ninth in the #9 car after leading nine laps early in the event. Seth Cooper suffered an even more dramatic fall, plummeting from second on the grid to 12th and last place despite leading 44 laps in his #96 machine. With Burt's victory establishing him atop the standings with 42 points, the championship fight appears wide open with just six points separating the top five drivers heading into round two.
