P1 Finish
Jonathan Burt drove the #11 to victory lane at Phoenix Raceway on Friday night, claiming his fifth win of the season in the Godsby ARCA Series. Starting from the pole, Burt led 71 of 135 laps in a race that saw eight lead changes and just two cautions for six laps, a relatively clean evening that suited the points leader. The victory extends Burt's advantage at the top of the standings to 38 points over John Crosby, whose own night took a difficult turn — the #73 crossed in ninth despite leading eight laps and collecting six incident points, a costly swing in a tight title fight.
Behind Burt, #00 Zachary Lovelace delivered a strong run from third on the grid to take second, leading 19 laps along the way to score his first series victory on multiple occasions — and while the win eluded him, it marked a genuine podium result, as Lovelace enters his first career podium finish in the Godsby ARCA Series. Rounding out the top three was #02 Kyre Mullaney, who climbed five positions from his P8 starting spot and led four laps before settling in at the front of the order by race's end.
The hard charger award belonged to #5 Brandon Hinton, who charged from 14th on the grid all the way to fifth at the checkered flag, gaining nine positions across 135 laps without a single incident. Hinton's clean, aggressive run was one of the most impressive performances of the night, and his effort was matched in part by teammate #68 Tom Ringer, who similarly started 12th and climbed to fourth with a gain of eight spots and zero incidents. Jordan Traas, meanwhile, suffered the most dramatic reversal of fortune — the #79 started second, led 29 laps, and tumbled to 14th by race's end, falling 12 positions and dropping to fourth in the standings at 289 points.
With 13 races remaining in the Godsby ARCA Series season, Burt's 345-point total gives him a 38-point cushion over Crosby and a 47-point edge over third-placed Brian Sousa. The #60 of Sousa finished 12th at Phoenix, keeping him within striking distance but leaving little margin for error. Traas's nightmare result at Phoenix has made his path forward significantly more difficult, sitting 56 points back of the leader. Burt's consistent pace at the front has made him the man to beat, and Friday's performance did nothing to change that narrative.
